Michael Heinsdorf Receives Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 Award

Salt Lake City, UT (May 19, 2016) - Michael Heinsdorf, PE, LEED AP, CDT, was honored by Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) as one of the 40 Under 40 award recipients. This award is given to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in personal and professional aspects of their lives. Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged based on nine areas including their commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement.

Michael was recognized among good company for CSE's 40 Under 40 Award. Of the forty engineers honored by CSE, an impressive 90 percent work for firms that are ARCOM clients.

Hired by ARCOM in 2013 as an engineering specification writer, Michael was promoted to Assistant Director of MasterSpec in 2015. Michael is responsible for managing and updating the MasterSpec engineering libraries and organizing and leading the MasterSpec Engineering Review Committee. Michael has become ARCOM’s in-house expert on federal legislation by keeping up with and commenting on rulings by the US Environmental Protection Agency’s and the US Department of Energy’s rulings that affect the engineering industry. He is a prolific contributor to ARCOM’s blog and has written several articles for Consulting-Specifying Engineer and other engineering publications.

Before coming to ARCOM, Michael twice worked at The Burns Group in Philadelphia. He worked briefly for Hyperion Inc. in McLean, Virginia, in between his two stints at Burns. In addition to his electrical engineering training, he has acquired broad knowledge of engineering disciplines related to building construction, developing expertise in fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, utilities, and many other areas of construction.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
