ARCOM, GBES, and SIG Announce Industry Partnership
Salt Lake City, Utah (April 26, 2017) — ARCOM is pleased to announce a partnership with the Green Building Education Services (GBES) and the Sustainable Investment Group (SIG). These partnerships align with ARCOM’s leadership in providing sustainable design content for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner (AECO) community.
GBES, a leader in online LEED and AIA training, and MasterSpec will jointly provide online education to Architects, Engineers, and Building Product Manufacturers on sustainable design practices in specifications, starting with two webinars on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Health Product Declarations (HPDs). An EPD is a standardized form that discloses the environmental impact of an individual product, while an HPD lists all of the ingredients used to manufacture a product. Demand for these documents continue to grow, especially as sustainable design schemes such as LEED v4 require these documents.
On May 17, “EPDs and HPDs for Building Product Manufacturers” will discuss the creation of EPDs and HPDs by building product manufacturers, and the use of these documents by Architects and Engineers during design. Free registration is available here: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2051816622937861634
On May 18, “EPDs and HPDs for Architects and Engineers” will discuss how to require, interpret, and utilize EPDs and HPDs during design and construction administration. Registration for this webinar is free, and is available here: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/331448162352129282
SIG will be partnering with MasterSpec to identify and integrate sustainable design schemes and content that reflects the latest trends and needs in the industry. MasterSpec is committed to being a leader in sustainability and will leverage a cadre of consultants and subject matter experts to help develop and maintain this content. SIG will be a subject matter expert on sustainable design schemes, such as WELL, Living Building Challenge, and Fitwel.
“We believe that better building can contribute to better lives and we are committed to providing the best and most comprehensive content to the AECO community. Partnering with both GBES and SIG is an exciting opportunity to incorporate additional subject matter expertise into MasterSpec,” said ARCOM CEO, Jim Contardi.
ARCOM is the leader in specifications and exclusively publishes MasterSpec for The American Institute of Architects for use by architects, engineers, landscape architects, specification writers, and design professionals involved in building projects. MasterSpec is exclusively endorsed by the American Council of Engineering Companies and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
