ARCOM is pleased to announce a new strategic agreement with The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) in which CSI now provides non-exclusive recognition of MasterSpec as a standard of the industry in master specifications for use in preparing specifications. Additionally, CSI also provides non-exclusive recognition of SpecWare as a leader in specification automation software.
CSI recognizes both MasterSpec and SpecWare as valid applications of CSI/CSC’s MasterFormat 2004 for section numbering and titling, and ARCOM as a major stakeholder in CSI’s efforts to create, maintain, and promote specification-writing principles, formats, documents, and education and certification programs.
CSI also agrees to designate a representative to attend the MasterSpec Review Committee meetings and to provide comment. ARCOM agrees to support the ongoing maintenance and development of MasterFormat 2004. The CSI task team responsible for this effort will be chaired by Michael J. King, ARCOM’s Vice President of Engineering Specifications.
ARCOM and CSI also agree to seek ways to advance the industry and the interests of ARCOM users and CSI members through new products and services, as well as through specification and information management-related education and training.
