Loretto Hall Conversion, Webster University

Washington University School of Medicine, Molecular Oncology Laboratory, McDonell Science Bldg., 5th Floor Renovation

This project converted Loretto Hall from a residence hall to an administrative office building. New chilled water HVAC system was installed, along with new electrical distribution, lighting, communications and plumbing & fire protection. The chilled water system is a dedicated ninety-ton air-cooled packaged chiller. Chilled water is distributed through an independent piping system to fan coil units and makeup air unit on the roof. This supplies all five floors with outdoor air. The unit is equipped with a supply air fan, reheat coil, cooling coil, preheat coil with face and bypass dampers, and filters. The new heating system consists of a steam to hot water converter, hot water pump and terminal units. Central boiler plant steam is converted to water by a converter in Loretto Hall.
