Techie's Tips

This regular column by our main technical support contact, Joshua Coffey (see his profile in this SpecPress issue on page 5), discusses technical questions raised by our users. Josh offers tips for resolution.

Q: What do I do when my Masterworks menu for Word 2003 does not display properly?

A: There are several ways that the Masterworks menu will not display properly:

• No items/options on the menu
• Item/options missing
• Options for another plug in appear under Masterworks

This typically happens when you have either Adobe Acrobat Professional or Windows Office Live installed on the same computer. These programs directly affect Word’s normal.dot template file, which in turn may affect other plug-ins like Masterworks.

To restore the Masterworks menu to its original state, do the following:

• In Word, select Tools > Macro > Macros
• Select and run the BuildMWorksMenu macro
