This new Section specifies fixed, low-expansion, alcohol-resistant, aqueous film-forming foam (AR-AFFF) fire-extinguishing systems for flammable-liquid fires. Foam systems are normally used on, but are not limited to, Class B (flammable-liquid) fires. This Section describes a diaphragm-type pressure proportioning tank, a venturi proportioning device, and added requirements for discharge devices; it may be edited for other foam systems.
This Section is intended to be used with Division 21 Section "Water-Based Fire-Suppression Systems," which provides foam-water solution distribution piping, valves, and valve specialties that comprise a complete foam-water system.
This Section was condensed from full-length Section of same number and title.
Full-length Section includes the following:
Supporting documents contain technical information that applies to all MasterSpec libraries. Generally, specific references to the Section Text in the Evaluations refer to full-length Sections.
