Vice President of Marketing and Sales
Angelica (Angie) graduated, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines with
a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She practiced as a specification writer for
the firm of L.V. Locsin and Partners, working on various high-rise building
projects in metropolitan Manila. She had the opportunity to work as a project
team member for the Palace of the Sultan of Brunei, in Brunei, but chose
instead to accept a Rotary International Foundation Scholarship to go to
graduate school in the U.S.
Angie moved to Salt Lake City and completed a Master of Architecture at the University of Utah, where she completed
her master's thesis in specification automation. She joined ARCOM in 1984, while still a student at the University
of Utah, where she "learned the ropes" by doing everything from processing specifications and performing accounting
tasks to providing customer and technical support. At ARCOM, she has served as Director of Operations and Director
of Marketing and Sales. She is currently the corporate Vice President as well as the Vice President of Marketing
and Sales.
Angie is married to Akbar Matinkhah, an electrical engineer with his own consulting engineering practice in Salt Lake
City. She has two sons, Dustin (business school graduate, currently working in the hotel industry) and Alex
(an engineering student in Colorado), a daughter, Gabrielle (a business student in California), and a dog,
Charlie, who is currently not in school. Angie enjoys traveling, going to sporting events and the theatre,
doing volunteer work, and reading.
"I have seen ARCOM grow from a four-part-time-employee firm to what it is today: a firm of 40+ specification writers
and editors, software developers, customer service, and technical personnel. It has been a challenging, exciting,
and fulfilling 25+ years. With all the company has achieved, I am proudest of its unwavering focus: continually
exceeding our clients' expectations by producing the best possible master specification system available. This
doesn't mean we haven't stumbled along the way, but the focus has stayed unchanged: dedication and devotion to
MasterSpec and our clients."
