Director of SpecText
Dave joined ARCOM in July 2011 as Director of SpecText, and brings with him
over 38 years of design and construction experience crossing a broad spectrum
within the engineering field.
Prior to joining ARCOM, Mr. Furry was the Lead Standards Engineer for MWH-Americas, where he worked with engineers
and other design professionals to develop and maintain an extensive specification system. Dave's design specialties
include water and wastewater engineering, piping and pumping systems, lift stations, and heat transfer applications.
Dave also has extensive construction services experience in all phases of water, wastewater and drainage projects,
and has developed operation and maintenance manuals for various facilities.
Through AWWA and WEF, Dave has developed and facilitated several training programs for operators and engineers.
In addition, he is active in CSI and EJCDC, and served on the Environmental Engineers' Coalition (EEC) to help
redefine CSI's numbering of water and wastewater equipment specifications.
He has master’s degrees in both civil and mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton,
Michigan, where he also received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. While living in Alaska, Dave also
took several graduate classes in Arctic (Cold Regions) Engineering at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Dave's hobbies include astronomy, bicycling, motorcycling, and reading.
Dave and his wife, Jody, live in Rye, Colorado.
