J. Peter Jordan, AIA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP

President

Jordan Consultants, LLC

“My service on MARC has made me acutely aware of how different firms view specifications and how they use them.  The various experiences we all bring to the committee’s deliberations certainly add depth to my own practice as I work with various design firms.”

J. Peter Jordan, AIA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP, leads a firm offering specification services to large, medium, and small architectural firms on a variety of building types for both public and private Owners.

With more than 40 years experience as a student, instructor, and practitioner of architecture, he has for most of the last 30 years been involved in teaching or writing construction specifications.   Mr. Jordan first used MASTERSPEC in 1979 when he took on the specification writing responsibilities for a firm in Hawaii where he was impressed not only with the content of the specification masters, but also with the evaluation sheets for each section included with each MASTERSPEC subscription.  Mr. Jordan has practiced in Georgia, Hawaii, and Texas, and worked on projects in the United States, Mexico, Diego Garcia, and throughout the Pacific Basin.  Whenever he has been given responsibility for writing specifications, he has generally used MASTERSPEC as the basis for the project’s specifications.  When directed to use a master prepared by a client, he has still found MASTERSPEC to be a valuable resource.

He is currently serving as a member of the AIA’s MASTERSPEC Architectural Review Committee for a second year.  He has taught construction specifications at the university level and made presentations on topics related to construction contracts and specifications to various architectural firms, AIA, DBIA, and CSI.
