Dave Metzger is Vice President of Heller & Metzger PC, a specifications consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Dave is a registered architect in Maryland and holds NCARB certification.  As a project architect and an independent consultant, Dave has been using MASTERSPEC since 1977, joining the review committee in 1991 and serving as 2002 committee chair. "Our meetings are worthwhile at multiple levels," he says. "We learn so much from each other, and it's satisfying to know that we and

our firms, as well as MASTERSPEC's over 10,000 users, benefit from our mutual experience." Dave is an active specifications and construction lecturer at seminars, courses, and conventions across the country, most notably for the following organizations:

 

  • Washington, Potomac Valley, and Northern Virginia Chapters of AIA (architectural registration exam materials and methods seminar)

  • DC Metro and Northern Virginia Chapters of CSI (CDT certification course)

  • University of Michigan

Dave and his wife Carole live in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He enjoys photography and has had two of his photographs published in the national AIA calendar, one of which received a Commendation Award in the 1996 AIA National Photography Contest.
